Welcome to United. We’re a family run business, with four generations of experience who have been providing professional services since 1992. It all began with Grandfather Horn, who started his motor business in 1915 and since these beginnings, we’ve been providing a passionate and committed service to our customers, adapting our skills and knowledge as technologies and consumer demands change.
Originally from South Africa, Keith established United in 1992 soon after moving to the UK. Previously, Keith completed two years of military service in South Africa and has dedicated his entire life to the industry, qualifying as a Diesel Fuel Injection Technician at the age of 21 and working for the family business, which also included completion of field service diagnostics. Keith (also known as the KitKat man to many of his customers!) has a wealth of experience and a proven history as a Managing Director in the motor industry, skilled in business management, and customer service. Keith believes his extensive career within the diesel fuel injection industry and his background of four generations makes him perfectly placed to service this sector.
Gareth is born and bred in Shrewsbury, being an active part of the family business from an early age. Gareth is a keen outdoorsman and, following a scholarship at Ellesmere College for his higher education, he has completed a number of challenges, including the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Course which included canoeing at Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada. He also loves to travel and has visited a number of countries, including New Zealand, where he completed a Level 2 Ski Instructor course. Growing up in the family business, Gareth has naturally acquired a wide range of knowledge and skills and, since joining the business, his expertise has gone from strength to strength.
Beverley has had an extensive and successful career in a number of industries prior to United. Also a native of South Africa, Beverley became a qualified pharmacist, working within a community pharmacy before moving to global brand Eli Lilly as a production pharmacist, responsible for producing capsules and tables. She then moved to Ray Ban South Africa as Managing Director, overseeing contact lens production and quality control before moving to the UK with Keith in 1992. Along with Keith, Beverley founded United Diesel whilst raising a young family, assisting with clerical responsibilities and supporting in the workshop. As Financial Director, Beverley manages the bookkeeping and reception for the business day-to-day.
