Injector Power Upgrades – High Flow Nozzles

Over the years I have been requested by various dedicated power enthusiasts to increase the flow rate of their injectors in order for them to be able to increase the horsepower of their engines. I have learned that there are basically two ways to increase the performance of injectors and that is to fit nozzles with a higher flow rate – bigger or more holes, and also the setup of the injectors.

When it comes to High Flow Nozzles, Bosio are very popular and have been at the forefront of the industry for some time, however, I do believe that there are nozzles of equivalent quality by different manufacturers now available. There are two areas that I concentrate on with regards to the VAG Systems, VE fuel system and the PD fuel system.

VE Fuel Systems

The difference between Bosio and myself is that they only make and supply nozzles whilst I have the ability to fit and set the injectors to obtain maximum performance. When I fit a nozzle I flow test the injector and by setting the NOP 1 (nozzle opening pressure) and NOP 2 I can allow the injector to delivery fuel as it is needed. This all depends on the power you wish to receive and also  where through the rev range you want it. It does not help to just dump lots of fuel into the cylinder all at once because you will have smoking issues. I am in the process of being able to supply nozzles that will have a better range of power options.

The nozzles used as standard have a hole size of .216mm
I can offer the following .240mm
  .260mm
And also the crème de la crème .350mm

PD Fuel Systems

I have done many PD upgrades and with experience have learned that it is very important to first set the breaking pressure of the injector. With a nozzle upgrade this is possible because we have to strip the injector in order to set the breaking pressure.

I am able to offer a High Flow Nozzle, also of Italian origin (as is Bosio), which will deliver 20% – 30% more flow.

What to expect!

This is the difficult part as it is not possible to predict the horsepower increase by doing an Injector Power Upgrade, there are many other factors that influence power but by working with us we will try to match an upgrade to suit your needs.

PP2-Project Power 2 (88bhp models only)

We have developed a modification to the existing Stanadyne injectors that, after a remap, will have significant increase in horse power at half the cost of the full modification of changing the injector bodies and nozzles. For further information please see our blog at PP2-Project Power 2 (88bhp models only) and contact our agent, Ron Goodfriend at rake_722@hotmail.com.
