Morning Keith,Is your Diesel Aid fuel additive suitable for car’s fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters? I am thinking of selling my Citroen Xsara 2.0 HDI soon and replacing it with a used GL merc 4 wheel drive drive with the 4.0 L CDI engine (not my choice - ‘she who must be obeyed’ has fallen in love with a black one she saw)! This Merc (2 years old) is fitted (unfortunately!) with a Diesel Particulate Filter as standard. I know that DPF’s can cause lots of bother so I need to check that your fuel additive is safe in such equipped cars.Incidentally, the citroen is still going great after I fitted the replacement injector you sold me about 6 months ago.Regards,Danny

Hi Danny,
It’s good to hear from you again. The idea of the DPF is to try and eliminate pollutants by burning them off. I actually smile at this idea because it is almost like “closing the stable door once the horse has bolted” If they concentrated on reducing the emissions in the first place, better and more complete combustion, you would not need a DPF.
So to answer your question Diesel Aid will be perfectly safe to use in a vehicle with a DPF as it improves combustion and provides a cleaner burn.
Thanks,
Regards,
Keith
