Pajero - Shogun - L200 2.5DT with the 4D656T engine Struggles to rev produces lots of smoke.

Remove fuel inlet connection to the injector pump. Look inside the pump and if you see a small "biro" spring there is a filter present. Remove the spring and then remove a very small brass mesh filter in the pump. Clean the filter well and put everything back.

Hi Bob,
Perhaps blank off the EGR valve, check air intake and turbo and perhaps get the injectors done. Price for a set of reconditioned service exchange units id £ 190.00.
Good luck.

Keith

Hi. I have a 2003 Mitsubishi 2.5 Sport Equippe td. It has recently become very sluggish on accelaration and tends to put out a fair bit of black smoke when i accelarate hard. Would this be caused due to dirty injectors or is this a bigger problem? What is the best way forward for me to solve this problem, thanks for any help in advance
