BMW, Rover, Freelander Bosch common rail injectors
Vehicle:BMW
Injector No. 0445 110 047 / 048 /266 / 029 / 030 /131
Cleanliness is most important.
•Once you have removed the old injectors please insure that the injector recesses are clean and that all injector heat shields have been removed from the cylinder head. If necessary obtain a seat cutter to clean up the injector seats.
•Remove the new injectors from the packing, leave the inlet plastic protective plugs on, remove the nozzle protective cap and using a small amount of the Mercedes-Benz special grease provided, “paste” the copper washer, if applicable onto the injector nozzle / cap nut, so that it does not fall off when you insert the injector into the injector recess.
•Smear the injector body with a Mercedes-Benz special grease and place the injector into the recess, fit the injector clamp and tighten to a torque of 10 Nm.
•PLEASE DO NOT USE COPPER SLIP GREASE
•Continue with the remaining injectors.
•Connect the injector leak off pipes or bar.
•Remove the inlet plastic protective plugs and fit the cleaned and blown out injector pipes.
•Tighten injector pipes and start vehicle.
•Once engine fires, do not over rev, but rather let engine tick over for a while.
•Check for leaks. N.B. see warning.
WARNING!
Due to the very high pressure of fuel within the injector pipes do not open / crack any of the fuel / injector pipes whilst the engine is running as the fine spray from a leaking pipe can harm you.
